Hotel L’Aigle

We had a fantastic family holiday with Snowcoach this half-term. The coach was punctual and comfortable, the hotel was practical and homely plus positioned only about 200m walk from the main lift. The staff were friendly and professional plus there were lots of other like minded families staying so it was great to relax and chat in the evenings. We will certainly consider another Snowcoach holiday in the future!

The Hotel L'Aigle is a great place to stay. The (mainly) British staff are the best, very helpful and considerate to your needs. The food is superb and plentiful. We enjoyed every dish, four courses with wine. It is run on a chalet basis, so it is very sociable with twelve to a table and the staff serve the food and eat with you.
The hotel is clean and comfortable with hot drinks on a serve yourself basis all day. There is a comfortable log fire and stunning mountain views. The lounge has very comfortable sofas and a bar opening at 4 pm daily. A hot tub and sauna are available in the evenings. The ski lifts are a short walk away and the village amenities and bus stops are very close.
Having said all that, the people working there really do make it one of the best places we have stayed in.

We had a fantastic holiday. We flew out to Chambéry and were picked up and transported to the hotel really easily by our friendly driver. The hotel was in an ideal location just a short walk from the piste and lift. Our room was comfortable, and the lounge area warm and cosy, especially around the log fire. We enjoyed the communal meals, comparing skiing notes with the other guests while eating tasty and filling food, all staff in the hotel were friendly and made our holiday, especially our guides for the social skiing. We joined the social skiing group every day and skied much more and found more places than we would have done on our own. They were brilliant! Overall, we had a great time and will be booking again for next year.

What a great skiing holiday my two son's and I had.
From the ease of the coach connection from South Mimms, the professionalism of the coach drivers, comfort of the coach and ease of travel down to the Alps made this a great start to our holiday.
We arrived on time at 0800 on Saturday in Valmeinier with a warm reception from the staff. Breakfast was ready for us and off we went skiing for the rest of the day.
We are new to the Valmeinier ski area and being experienced skiers found the whole ski area well connected with good runs for all standards and to our surprise, large in skiable area. If I had one criticism, some of the lifts could do with some updating by creating faster lifts.
Our accommodation was great for the money. The ensuite room we had was comfortable and large for the three of us. The hotel amenities were great - lounge, dining areas, bar, games room, hot tub and sauna.
We received a good breakfast each morning (hot and cold options), cakes and beverages at 4pm, and a great 4 course meal each evening with free wine. I'd like to thank the chefs and kitchen staff for what was a good variety and great quality of food over the 7 days.
The staff in the hotel were fantastic - friendly, helpful and very easy going. Nothing was an issue and everyone mingled well during our stay. They kept us entertained each evening with games and various entertainment, so a big thankyou to them.
We had amazing weather whilst we were there with four good dumps in the evenings and blue bird days which made our own Off Piste adventures unbelievable over the 8 days of skiing. We spent some time with Neil (red/black) social ski guide, who was such a great guy with an amazing character. Big thankyou Neil.
Our return journey home on the Saturday evening was just as comfortable, and being tired from so much skiing over the 8 days, we all slept practically all the way home.
Finally we met some great people both guests and staff, and this holiday would not have been the same if this didn't existed. My boys have said that this was one of their best ski holiday, and they have skied all over the world, and to be fair I would have to agree.
So a big thankyou to everyone at Snow Coach and we are definitely thinking of returning very soon. Keep up the great work guys!

What a great ski trip with Snowcoach. Excellent value, warm cozy hotel with fabulous staff that couldn't do more for you to make it a great ski trip. Fantastic location, staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is awesome as they cater for so many dietary requirements. 1 minute out the door and you are onto the slopes.
Rooms are clean and the beds are super comfy too, had such a good nights sleep after a days skiing.
Loved the cake at 4.15 everyday along with the option of a Jacuzzi or a Sauna.
You will not go hungry, breakfast, cake and evening meal everyday, along with wine and water at the table kept me going.
If anybody is travelling alone, there are plenty of others who go on their own too, so you can join in if you wish.

Another fabulous holiday made extra special by the friendly atmosphere and staff. Great value for money. Another warm and friendly welcome from the team. Second time staying here with Snowcoach Holidays and would highly recommend. The hotel is warm and welcoming as are the staff. The food is delicious and plentiful (just what you need after a busy day skiing). Social skiing was great, accommodating for both intermediate and advanced skiers.

1000% recommended. We have been 3 times now, once at Easter and twice for Christmas. Everything is wonderful and as about half the guests were returns from last year, obviously I am not alone in that opinion! Snowcoach has wonderful staff, friendly, helpful and fun, who do everything possible to make your stay perfect. Food is great (free wine too!), rooms are clean and comfortable, hotel is social with great communal areas with a bar and open fire, a hot tub and sauna, games room and onsite equipment hire for skiers. Snowboarding equipment is very close by, lifts are right opposite the hotel, baby slopes right behind the hotel. The jumps for adrenaline junky snowboarders were better at Easter but Christmas was great fun and much easier and more enjoyable than having it at home!! The runs are varied but there is another valley accessible via lifts for more variety which is covered by the ski pass provided. Altogether a fantastic holiday from a great family run company who really go the extra mile. A very satisfied customer with two happy sons.

Amazing holiday, 100% recommend. They couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming. Everyone we meet seemed to return year after year and we will be doing the same. Lots of friends and memories made. The hotel has easy access to the slopes via a few stairs and unlimited hot drinks all day. The dinners are amazing with lots of homemade food.

Another great trip to Valmeinier with Snowcoach Have travelled with Snowcoach for 20+ years and again this year did not disappoint for our annual family skiing/snowboarding holiday.
Booking very easy and head office staff communicated well when I needed to amend ski hire and reserve seats etc. At South Mimms when joining the coach, all was well organised by coach drivers and Snowcoach staff. Journey out fine and arrived into resort in good time. As usual the Staff at the L’Aigle were excellent, nothing too much trouble for them, and made to feel very welcome. Hotel clean, great food and excellent location to the ski lifts. Journey home went well and back to UK on time.
Highly recommend and will hopefully be travelling with them again next year.

Perfect hassle-free experience. For the dedicated skier to the first-time family ski party, I cannot think of a better company, hotel or resort for a more hassle-free experience. The hotel is not the most luxurious, but the key is in the fact you are going on a ski hotel, not to luxuriate all day by the pool. Staff, food atmosphere all excellent. Felt right at home as soon as I arrived.

Stress free family skiing holiday. The hotel is really well situated for the slopes and local amenities.
Rooms are small and cosy but have everything in that we need. Anything additional can usually be hired from Reception. We love that everyone eats together in the evening and that we had different tables each night so that we mixed with other guests and got to know everyone staying at Hotel L'Aigle. Food was tasty and filling, complimented of course with wine.
We made good use of the hot tub and the spa which are both open from 4pm and liked the easy access from the locker room (where every room has a locker) to the slopes.
The staff were all absolutely superb. Despite being a predominantly young team, everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly. They would go out of their way to ensure guests were happy and comfortable. With the hotel being small, the staff were always visible, so they became part of the social scene, including sitting with us at dinner, making our stay feel much like home from home.
The coach is also a great way to travel. To the door drop off, comfortable seating and a stress-free journey.

Great trip to Valmeinier with Snowcoach. Really enjoyed our trip. We flew to Geneva and were met by the minivan to take us to the hotel. (Liaise with them to ensure you don’t arrive too early and have a long wait as they only have a few vans to cater for all transfer).
Hotel in prime location for the lifts, ski storeroom too. Basic facilities but welcoming and clean.
Staff all very friendly and joined you at the table for dinner for the 4-course meal. Cakes and tea at 4-5 and a jacuzzi if you wish. Bar reasonably priced and free wine with dinner.
Can’t argue about value for money. Easiest skis hire I have ever experienced. Great little town, good bars and the skiing was fantastic. Lots of long runs and good for beginners and intermediate. Enjoyed the bowing night out they organised too.

A brilliant holiday. Great value, a fantastic position and great food. The staff were very accommodating, and the coach only has about 40 seats, so loads of leg room. Good skis and boot hire all in the same building. Good runs over 3 mountains and plenty of off piste when the conditions are right.

Perfect family hotel with heart. Homely and rustic hotel with the friendliest and most helpful staff you could ever wish for. The term customer service does not do justice for the genuine and fun staff who especially made my four year olds stay a brilliant one. Nothing was too much trouble for them. All superstars. Room clean and functional with plenty of storage space and perfect shower. Super food all week and free flowing free wine during the meal. A lovely atmosphere with staff and guests alike mingling and having fun. Great proximity to the slopes and a hidden gem of a resort that I think the French have understandably wanted to keep for themselves. Good amount of varied slopes that are not too busy and a pretty little resort centre with a smattering of shops, bars and restaurants plus a handy Spar over road from hotel. Finally flexible options for coach or sorting out your own flights and the hotel lays on the transfers for a very reasonable cost. Literally the perfect ski holiday. Well done Snowcoach you’ve nailed it!

Another great holiday. Just returned after last week of season. Plenty of snow and most runs still open.
This was our 19th season with Snowcoach so that speaks volumes. L'Aigle is situated in fantastic location, 100metres or less. The hotel has its own boots/skis for hire, and you can pre book lift passes with them, so all you need to do is turn up and you can head off out skiing.
From Valmeinier you can ski across to Valloire, fantastic skiing area.
Skiing with Snowcoach is a social experience and a great way to meet other skiers. Meals are taken on tables of about ten so always chatting to different people if you wish. The staff were brilliant. It is not an expensive luxury holiday but fantastic value for money. Rooms are basic but clean and tidy, ours was lovely with great views of the mountains.
Plenty to eat at breakfast, and really nice 4 course meals during our stay. Main course one night was best duck I've eaten. (Well done, Drew). Complimentary wine is provided during the first three courses. Outdoor hot tub overlooking mountain, lovely.
We travelled on their coach, long journey but coaches and drivers are good so worth the time. We travelled at the height of the P&O problems so feared delays at the ports. Snowcoach had swapped bookings to Irish Ferries and thankfully there were no delays on either journey. Can't wait till next year.

Great holiday format and superb staff. Just returned from a fabulous week’s skiing with Snowcoach in Valmeinier. We had a glorious run of eight full day’s blue sky skiing with a mixed ability group. The accommodation is quite basic but warm and clean, the meals were decent and plentiful. The club hotel promotes integration amongst guests and staff, which was brilliant.
The staff were consistently great but a special shout out to Neil, along with Jack and Drew for their great humour and excellent ski guide touring, expertly picking the best slopes which helped make a fantastic week.
Snowcoach were exceptionally easy to deal with and dealt brilliantly with the unexpected P&O situation, they provide a great value for money service and experience.
Well done guys, we will be back!

Another great week. Just back from our fourth visit. A great budget hotel. Rooms are clean and warm. Breakfast is serve yourself (as much as you want). 4pm tea/coffee and freshly made cakes and then a 4-course evening meal with free wine which will fill you up.
The staff are mainly students and this year’s team were definitely the best we have had although we have not had a bad group.
Hotel is 50 yards from the lifts which is another great plus. Will be back for our 5th time I'm sure.
