Here are some extracts (otherwise there would be pages of them!) from Tripadvisor by our clients from last season. We take note of the comments, both positive and constructive, and we thank our clients for taking the time to review our Club Hotels.
I travelled on my own on the coach all the way from Watford, but I’ve done it before and I know the time flies by. The hotel arrangements make it very easy for solo travellers as meals are eaten at large tables and people tend to sit in different places every night so you make lots of new friends. The hotel is actually in Le Fayet, which is a lovely little place with a nice park to stroll in after skiing and enough in the way of cafes and shops, though St Gervais itself is well worth a visit too. The Mont Blanc tramway goes from just beside the hotel and we had a fantastic trip up to Les Houches, which I would definitely recommend.
Stayed at the Terminus for 4 nights Mon - Thursday booked through Snowcoach. First time I have been with them for several years but as usual - their service was excellent. Lift passes waiting. Upstairs for quick change, John waiting to sort out skis before driving just the 2 of us to the Bettex gondola, we were given the choice of time to be picked up at the end of the day. We therefore had 4.5 days skiing for a 4 night stay. Transfers via mini-bus organised each day so we skied 3 different areas - snow not good so this change of destination was welcome. Room was comfortable, water hot and cakes in the sun lounge most welcome at the end of each day.
We went for the skiing and the hotel allowed us to do just that. They always do what they can to ensure we get the best skiing available in the area. We will certainly plan to return. This was our fourth trip with Snowcoach and we’ve enjoyed the holiday every time. Good value for money.
I’m not long back from Snowcoach’s Hotel Terminus in St Gervais and it’s definitely worth a mention, credit where credit is due.
I travelled down overnight by coach to take advantage of the extra two days skiing, (8 days in all). The hotel staff were friendly and helpful - shuttling guests to and from the base lift, hosting the communal tables at dinner and even providing a ski hire/tech service at the hotel itself. The staff also arrange a social ski group, to show you the best parts of the mountain too. Although I had booked as a solo skier, I was not the only one of my kind , so I soon hooked up with my very own wolf pack and once the days skiing is done there’s a hot tub to jump in to as well.
The skiing itself is great, plenty of intermediate pistes, scattered over a few different areas. My love of tree lined runs meant many hours were spent enjoying the Combloux side of Megeve, the picturesque St Nicolas and the network of runs snaking their way over towards Cote 2000 where the skiing becomes a little more demanding. Also make sure you take a trip on the scenic Mont Blanc mountain railway, it more or less stops outside the hotel. The 45 min ride drops you at the top of the Les Houches ski area in the Chamonix Valley. Well worth the visit. I will definitely be back
This is a British run hotel catering for Brits skiing at the nearby resort of St. Gervais. It is partnered with Snowcoach, and I booked through them, as I was booking a skiing package rather than just a hotel stay. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and are there to make sure you have a good time. You will not be on your own as you will eat at tables for 12 with meals and wine inclusive with the package and will certainly fill you up. There is a bit of apres-ski fun, but you will be left alone unless you want to join in. It is only a short 10 minute drive to the main cable car up the mountain and travel there and back is inclusive with the hotel shuttle busses.
The Terminus has been upgraded and the rooms are now modern, spotless and with a range of facilities - TV, soap dispensers, etc. The communal areas are spacious and comfortable and the food this year was very good.
I have been skiing with Snowcoach for several years now and mainly stay at the Hotel Terminus in Saint Gervais, France. The most significant improvement I have found travelling with Snowcoach, is their coaches. They are much more comfortable than previous years with lovely reclining seats and extra leg room. I prefer to travel by coach because I find it much more convenient. Once your luggage is loaded, you can sit back and relax and then taken all the way to the resort without the hassle of airports. The Terminus is situated in a village and the hire shop for skiing equipment, is on the premises. You are provided with transport to the ski lift daily and there is the opportunity to visit other resorts as well. There are also local buses that will take you up to the mountains. The service at the Terminus has improved over the years and their staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are much more comfortable with better showers and free Wi-Fi. Saint Gervais is still one of the best places in France to ski, with magnificent views of Mont-Blanc. I would recommend the Terminus as an ideal place to stay because they are very experienced in providing a good service for skiers. In my opinion staying at the Terminus is value for money.
Have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, last year we introduced our daughter and family to the hotel and this year another couple joined us. The rooms are clean, bedding good, and rooms have a safe.
All members of the team were extremely friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. The shuttle service to the slopes was well organised so no delays. The guys in the ski shop were also very helpful in making sure equipment was appropriate for individuals requiring items. They also provided me with a great pair of new boots when my own ones fell to pieces!
Wholesome dinners provided in the evening which is just what is needed on this type of holiday.
Well done to the team and thank you
We travelled to this hotel with Snowcoach. With 4 young children (1-8) we were unsure whether the long coach journey was going to be a good idea or a total disaster! Thank fully everything went well as the timings mean the majority of your travel is throughout the night. No need to get up early for flights or worry about taking all the luggage.
The hotel is fairly basic and slightly dated but is more than made up for by the helpfulness of staff, amazing food, fun entertainment and overall friendliness of everyone in the hotel. The location of the hotel cannot be faulted. To one side you have the main ski lifts up to all ski runs and to the other side was the nursery slope and children ski garden. There are numerous places to eat and drink, the spar shop is virtually opposite and the bowling alley is only a 5 minute walk away.
The organisation in the hotel is brilliant and the staff will help you with anything. It feels like you have become part of an even bigger family when you stay.
Snowcoach. It’s ‘what it says on the tin’. A coach. (Really comfortable; seats almost horizontal for sleeping. (Coordinate with person behind you though!) Good drivers; I actually slept.
Snow. Late in the season ....but it was there and the best runs and time of day for snow condition known by the ‘social club’ skiers!
There was a hotel too. L’Aigle. Friendly young staff. ‘Home’ cooking, with no shortage of food. Free wine. (Thank you, all the staff)
Gallons of really hot water, a bath in each room. A sauna and hot tub. All basic but what more do you need after a day’s skiing?
Oh, the hotel.......50m from a 6 man chair up the Valmeinier hill. Or ski outstraight down to the link over to Valloire. At the end of the day, ski in from wherever you were.
Although this little ski resort is very international, Hotel L’Aigle, is generally the number one choice for the Brits, which makes it a fantastic choice for all parties, from large groups to lone travellers; everyone (staff & guests) intermingles with each other, really giving the place a great welcoming vibe.
We chose to travel by coach, which due to the distance, isn’t the most appealing thought, but it really was quite comfortable, pleasant & effortless.
In my eyes, the best thing (other than the evening meals) was the staff; such a good bunch, not just in helping us with hotel services & ski hire, etc., but also out of the hotel on the slopes & après.
On every trip there would be a warm Hello from someone whom you would have met the season before...Big turnover of repeat customers who normally bring a New mate with them
Friendly & efficient staff , ski in ski out , sauna & hot tub , tea & cakes waiting your return from the slope. Great mountain restaurant..........I will be back next season
Very welcoming. Team were great and friendly! Food was in plenty supply and great home cooked grub! Loved the cheeseboard every night. Hotel close to slopes and other restaurants and shops. Good facilities!
The hotel is ideally located for the slopes....and the St. Alban’s Ski Club guys are the best. My room was excellent; clean with everything in good working order. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The lounge area with the large open fire is a cosy place to chill out and make new friends. The food was good and the ambience overall was excellent. Thoroughly recommend the Snowcoach experience.
1. The holiday, in total, was extremely good value for money. Hotel L’Aigle was everything that we expected for the price we paid.
2. Organisation was very good indeed - from the online booking to the office support, right through to the timings of transfers etc.
3. At the resort we were extremely well looked after. If one wanted something slightly out of the ordinary at mealtimes ... there was no problem. If the snow was better on the other side of the valley, we were transported to and from at no extra cost. It is no exaggeration not say that nothing as too much trouble.
4. THIS IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT POINT: the staff were superb! Usually, one would identify one or two members of staff who were a cut above the rest - but this was not possible at L’Aigle. Every one of them were equally ‘service minded.’ It appeared to my wife and I that they had all undergone some kind of training that ensured that standards were maintained.
In addition, we were dreading being overwhelmed by ‘bright young bouncy-things’ whose sole topic of conversation was skiing! We were delighted to find that the staff at L’Aigle were indeed bright and young - but they could converse in a diverse range of age-related subjects.
Had a great time with friends here in February this year: There is always a fun, family relaxed atmosphere. There is great access to the ski lifts. Good value and fantastically run. Great food and atmosphere. We were lucky to have 4 days of sun and yet there was plenty of snow.
