Hintertux & Ziller valley ski pass
Mayrhofen The local skiing takes place on two separate mountains. The Ahorn cable car and the Penken gondola which both ascend from the heart of the village.
At the top of the Penken gondola the 6-seater chair lift ensures a swift exit to ski the attractive and varied 101km of pistes. Beginners will love the blue Baby Tour run and experts will find the new ’Harikari’ black run exhilarating, it is the steepest prepared piste in Austria with a 78% gradient. There are plenty of restaurants for warming Gluhweins and the Ice Bar at the bottom of the Penken lift ensures a lively finish to the day.
Though the Ahorn mountain is small, don’t be deceived! This pretty area is perfect for those who want uncrowded, leisurely skiing and snowboarding. The black run from the top of the Ahorn to the village offers a long, steep, thigh- burning run and is now open all season thanks to snow cannons.
The Penken area of Mayrhofen is linked with Lanersbach/Voderslanersbach, which increases the connected skiing area by 51% to 141kms of pistes.
Zell am Ziller/Gerlos These two areas are linked to make an extensive 100km of pistes. The 8-seater gondola takes you to a great vantage point where queues are a rarity. The chair lift link between Zell and Gerlos provides stunning, unspoilt landscape. Gerlos has lots to offer the advanced skier - plenty of long runs, mogul fields, natural bowls and uncrowded pistes.
Kaltenbach This resort of 66km is perfect for intermediate skiers and those first few days back on skis. The well-prepared, wide, leisurely blue and red runs are a real confidence booster.
