Doorstep skiing from 1400m to 2800m
From the moment we visited and skied Val Cenis we knew that we had to return. The skiing is superb and the scenery around this National Park is simply beautiful. This is truly a resort to please everyone and we are amazed that a ski area of this calibre should have remained such a secret! The ancient villages of Lanslebourg and Lanslevillard join together to form the resort of Val Cenis. These unspoilt villages are located in the Haute Maurienne at the confluence of two mountain passes, which open only for the summer months - the Col de I’Iseran from Val d’Isere and the Col du Mont Cenis into Italy on the edge of the Vanoise National Park. In the villages there is a selection of shops, bars, restaurants and banks, which creates a traditional mountain community with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
